Director of the East African Bible Society, John Mpaayei was the first person to translate the New Testament into Maasai and is well known for being an extraordinary East African Christian statesman. He was chairman of the African Enterprise city wide mission to Nairobi in 1968/9.
John was also the first major African leader with whom Michael Cassidy shared the vision of gathering African Christian leaders in 1973. The Pan African Christian Leadership Assembly (PACLA) took place in 1976 and John was the Chairperson. Michael considers it a privilege to know this great leader with whom he has been able to partner.
