Judy Mbugua, a major leader in African women’s ministries across the African continent, was always a powerful reminder for Michael of the significant ministries and roles that women play in the Lord’s work. Judy was for many years the leading light and inspirational Director of PACWA, the Pan African Christian Women’s Association. Judy’s influence in these ministries spread all across Africa and the world and she and Michael often found themselves sharing platforms in different contexts. What Michael also always admired about Judy was her ability, as a healed women herself, to address male chauvinism and power plays in a manner which men could receive. Said Michael, “She could make us all laugh at ourselves while giving us big stick!”
