Professor of Homiletics at Fuller Theological Seminary, Clarence Roddy greatly encouraged Michael Cassidy in his preaching and taught him much about sermon preparation and presentation. He once said, “Mike, that sermon went all the way from Dan to Beersheba and died in the Dead Sea!” Like Charles Fuller, he repeatedly encouraged Michael to “Preach the Word!” and inspired generations of Fuller students to be diligent and effective preachers before he died in 1970.
